The One Thing Dolly Parton Would Retire For

Dolly Parton is a living legend, a country music icon, a legendary songwriter, larger-than-life personality.  She has been in country music since 1957 and released her first single in 1959.

At 78, it would be easy to believe that she would be ready to hang the guitar up and take it easy, but this is not the case. She loves country music and she loves to work.  

She told USA Today, "I don't have a job, I have a joy!" when speaking about country music.

Parton has been incredibly successful in anything she does from music to marriage.  In 1966 she married Carl Thomas Dean and hasn't wavered since.  After 58 years, Dolly is as committed as ever.

For a person that openly admits that "it is expensive to look this cheap", Parton has a signature look that she has held true to every day of her life.  Bleach blond and a lot of makeup makes her feel good and she says it is key to making the people around her feel good.  

"If it fits me, then I'm going to make everybody around me happy because I'm going to feel good myself."

Parton released a rock 'n roll album in November of 2023 titled, "Rockstar".  Within the album you will find collaborations with legends like Elton John, Ann Wilson, Stevie Nicks, Lizzo, Paul McCartney and many more.

In January 2024, Parton and Conagra Brands entered into an exclusive licensing partnership for retail food.  Her food line will include frozen, refrigerated, grocery and snack items inspired by down-home comfort cuisine.

Despite her fame and continued successes, Parton remains down-to-earth and approachable.  She has inspired countless individuals to pursue their dreams and overcome obstacles in their own lives.   

With a career and a marriage spanning decades, she is and will be an enduring legacy.  Not only is she famous for her musical talents, Parton is also successful as an actress, author and philanthropist, known for her generosity and charitable work.
