Sensational Celtic show against Hearts as Hoops save best for last

It’s been a season of so many inconsistent performances, so what a time for Celtic to finally to start being exciting and excellent or the entire match against Hearts this afternoon.

On very few occasions have we seen a full 90 minutes performance from our team this season, but today we got one, with another four required from this Celtic side now cruising at full steed and in top form in top gear, with the  finishing line in the league in sight and the Scottish Cup just beyond the horizon.

We saw a couple of sides from our team also today. We finally got to see clinical Celtic when we had to dig in early doors to still get a two goal cushion to cherish. Yet amazingly when we got full control of the game, and created so many more opportunities with some outstanding football, we could only find the deserved third from the spot kick. Football just doesn’t make much sense at times.

So many massive individual performances produced today from Celtic players, that gave us such a strong all round display today. Yet we still had to call upon Hart on a few occasions to contribute hugely towards the team.  Joe is relishing every minute of his career finale and continues to show what a fabulous signing he has been for our club. He totally deserves to end his career on such a high with a league title and cup final to remember ahead of him.

To see Matt O’Riley and Kyogo back performing as the deservedly best player in Scotland this season and the deadliest striker by far in the country still, was such a joy to watch. We may have scored a few brilliant goals already this season, but our 2nd goal today possibly tops the lot. The quality of the O’Riley  pass, along with the movement of Kyogo and matched by such a lovely, clinical finish, is worthy of a goal that you’ll never get tired watching.

Possibly the most pleasing thing within a performance that produced so much enjoyment for myself, was
seeing the return of Reo Hatate and Callum McGregor back to full fitness and the overall quality they always provide to our team when that are firing on all cylinders, as both were today.

Getting our best midfield three back producing the goods, still brings a far better attacking dimension to our team, and more importantly,  at the right time of the season.

The defensive line stood up early doors with the Jam Tarts trying their bully boys approach, and still getting aided it seemed by a very lenient referee in Kevin Clancy. Once we got to grips with their approach then the quality within our team could still manage to rise to the top.

Our supporters joined in brilliantly on the occasion also, and made for a fantastic day all round for everyone connected with Celtic Football Club. The same and even more is expected from everyone connected to the club will be required next weekend for the Glasgow Derby to wrap up this title.

The players, the management team and the supporters were as one today and the atmosphere will be even better against theRangers. It inspires our players and you can see why. On today’s showing, from everybody within Paradise – on and off the pitch – we are going to get the victory that will mean the league title will be ours yet again.

It might have taken Celtic some time to finally arrive on this stage, in this form but now we have, there is no moving ourselves now, with the encore of the Scottish cup final to be delivered and another successful end to the season achieved.

As the Celtic support chanted today, “we shall not we shall not be moved by the Hearts , Hibs or theRangers, we shall not be moved”…Seven more sleeps.
